surf tour
suggestions
The best time for a New Zealand surf trip we
believe is Oct/Nov or Feb/March/April. The seasons are
turning, NZ kids are in school and the Christmas, New Year
hoopla is well and truly over.
These shoulder seasons have plenty of waves to chose from.
Rarely are we shut out without a surf option on our doorstep
or within an hour’s drive in either direction.
Following are just three tour suggestions. From here we can
begin to alter and fine-tune your surf tour to suit your
salt water requirements.

We are more than happy to help you organize a rental car. An al la
carte surf guide service is available should you want to leave the

looking the stunning Wainui Beach. We will pick
you up at the airport, get you settled in and
for the first four days we will show you around
the place.
The SWF guide team will be ready to go from dawn
to dusk. You will be introduced to all the local
surf spots with the options of exploring the
even more remote surf set ups that are up and
down our East Cape coastline.
We will also familiarise you with the township
of Gisborne…shopping, cafes, restaurants,
wineries. On day five we will get you sorted
with a rental car and then away you go to enjoy
the East Coast in your own time and pace.
Gisborne is off the beaten track. Has plenty to
offer. A wave to suit all tastes and abilities,
easy to navigate…pretty much the whole package. |

From Gisborne the tour will take you over to the
other side of the island to Taranaki. It’s a long haul, an 8-9 hour
drive, but once you hit Surf Hwy 45 with the mountain on one side
and the Tasman Sea on the other the surf adventure picks up
momentum. Although Raglan gets all the hype, Taranaki has far more
breaks, is less crowded and in many ways is more of a surfing
adventure.
After seven days of exploring the 'Naki' we can say adios to you and you can
carry on in whatever direction suits your fancy.
Or we will drop you off in Raglan into the capable hands of our mate
Harry…or we will drop you off at the Airport in Auckland, which ever
you prefer.
This tour really puts the emphasis on surfing. You’ll receive dawn
to dusk guide service. The team will be doing their best to make
sure you are getting as much surf as your body can handle. |
